Fideicomiso de Inversión en Bienes Raíces (Fibra), Macquarie México, began the construction of its first industrial complex in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, which involves a total investment of US$19.8 million.
The complex will consist of two buildings of 20,000m2 each and will be completed in two stages, informed the real estate trust in a statement.
The first phase of the development consists of the construction of an industrial building, which represents an investment of US$9.3 million.
Fibra Macquarie said that this building will have the highest standards in its sector for industrial buildings, so they will comply with the strictest sustainability standards, such as energy efficiency and other environmentally friendly measures.
“The favorable conditions of the investment environment in Ciudad Juarez have created this opportunity, which we believe will be an important milestone in our industrial development program,” said Juan Monroy, general director of Fibra Macquarie.
