TIJUANA – A plebiscite against the beer company Constellation Brands could generate an investment leak in Baja California, agreed business and government sectors.
“It will cause us to send a bad message for local, national and foreign investment, I am concerned that this plebiscite has political purposes,” said Governor Francisco Vega de Lamadrid.
Vega de Lamadrid noted that this situation may lead to a slowdown in their efforts to encourage the arrival of companies to the border to create more jobs. He added that thanks to these efforts, they have managed to move the state from the 16th to the 6th place in terms of investment, besides unemployment rate had a decrease going from 5.9% to 3%.
