TIJUANA – In the fourth quarter of the year, the industrial sector occupied approximately 1 million square feet of the city, representing an increase of 300% compared to the same quarter in 2017, said Daniel Caballero, president of Comité de Parques Industriales de Desarrollo Económico e Industrial de Tijuana (Deitac).
He added that industrial investments occupied just over 3 million square feet in the city of Tijuana during 2018, which results in the arrival of companies offering jobs to the community of Tijuana.
Caballero said that there were 16 new projects in 2018, most of the companies come from the United States, others come from Germany and some come from expansions of established companies that decided to continue relying on the city of Tijuana to continue its growth.
The president of Deitac said that at the moment there are 2,549,000 square feet available to receive new businesses in the metropolitan area, which includes the municipalities of Tijuana, Tecate and Playas de Rosarito.
