SONORA – Sonora has confirmed that Hermosillo and Puerto Libertad Photovoltaic Parks will be inaugurated next month by Iberdrola and Acciona.
In a working meeting with the CEOs of both companies, the governor of the State of Sonora, Claudia Pavlovich Arellano, highlighted the great potential that Sonora has for the generation of clean energy, which has allowed companies to invest in the entity in modern facilities and job generation.
In a working meeting with Xabier Viteri Solaun, director of renewables business and Sergio Hernández de Deza, director of international development, both from the Iberdrola Group, governor Pavlovich analyzed the Hermosillo Photovoltaic Park project, which has the capacity to generate 175.2 gigawatts, equivalent to supplying more than 100,000 homes, with an investment of US$135 million.
Iberdrola foresees that this photovoltaic complex will reduce about 110,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which is equivalent to taking 30,000 vehicles out of circulation in the same period, contributing to the state policy of green growth and care for the environment.
