NUEVO LEON – Smurfit Kappa Mexico, a global company that produces cardboard packaging in Mexico and other countries, will invest between 10 and US$15 million over the next three years in its four plants in Nuevo Leon.
Jorge Alberto Angel, president of the company in Mexico, where there are 26 plants, said that in the last three years they have invested US$177 million in the country and plan to invest about US$200 million in the next three years.
In Nuevo Leon, Smurfit Kappa has a paper mill that is used to produce cardboard, as well as another plant in Guadalupe and two more in Apodaca, where they make cardboard boxes to protect appliances and other types of products.
“In the next three years we will make an investment of 10 to US$15 million in the plants we have here, only in Nuevo León,” he told to El Financiero.
