CIUDAD JUAREZ – Two maquiladoras in Ciudad Juarez have closed their facilities from December until now, due to production and manufacturing costs that have been modified by the new fiscal stimulus in the northern part of the country, the undersecretary of Innovation, Jesus Mesta, explained.
He pointed out that the first of them was Ansell Edmont Industrial Inc. facilities, a company that moved its operations to Asia, where they found better production costs, compared to the one they handled in the entity.
On the other hand, the maquiladora North American Menopause Society (NAMS) announced the closing of their operations due to issues that are yet to be explained to the Secretaría de Innovación y Desarrollo Económico.
Even though the official reason for the closing of operations of NAMS is not known as of yet, labor lawyers are advising the employees of the company so that they can receive an exemplary liquidation.
