SONORA – The next generation of the van “Transit Connect” will be produced in the Mexican plant of Ford in Hermosillo, Sonora.
This decision was made in order to comply with the regional content of the new United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) and to promote the benefits that the company is implementing.
“Manufacturing this small van in Hermosillo, Sonora, increases the content of components coming from the United States and Canada according with the USMCA proposal, which supports U.S. manufacturing jobs and promotes the purchase of components from suppliers in the North American region,” Ford stated.
According to the company, said model will stop its production in their facility in Valencia, Spain in 2021, where 41,000 cars have been manufactured per year.
