CIUDAD JUAREZ – The municipality of Ciudad Juarez and the state of Chihuahua signed a collaboration agreement to carry out construction projects in streets and especially in vulnerable areas.
The minister of Communications and Public Works of the state government, Gustavo Elizondo and the mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Armando Cabada, were the ones in charge for the agreement’s signature and explained that the state will allocate around US$5.2 million for pairing works of earthen streets with asphalt material bath; another US$5.2 million will be used for the improvement of 20 km² of unpaved roads.
The two officials explained that in these two agreements, the State will provide the machinery, personnel, engineers and materials needed, while the Municipality will pay lodging, staff travel and diesel for the machinery.
They commented that works are expected to begin within the next two weeks, and they added that these will be the first agreements of several that the state and the municipally will sign this year for priority works in Ciudad Juarez.
