MONTERREY — Nuevo León keeps seeking investments to generate employment, so there are currently 20 foreign investment projects in the portfolio, said Roberto Russildi Montellano, minister of Economy and Labor (Sedet).
He added that there are 120 companies in the portfolio that are going through different stages of investment; currently, there are 20 companies in the closing phase (auto parts, household appliances and consumer goods sectors) and each one of them could generate between 300 to 400 jobs.
“It is important to say that we have not had the exit of any company yet, productivity remains high, based on exports,” said the minister.
The normal process of a company that plans to settle in Nuevo León takes between eight to twelve months; we expect to make short this period of time and make it last between three and four months while accelerating internal processes that are carried out at the municipal and state level.
Russildi Montellano finally added that Sedet currently looks forward to providing support and incentives to the companies that have already been settled in the entity.
