Texas is interested in doing business in Mexico

MEXICO – The president of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC), Luis Rodríguez, indicated that both the agency and the businessmen want to put up bridges, not walls, so they are ready to do business and exchanges between this city and Mexico.

“Really what happens in the nation and in the White House is not a reflection of what happens in Austin,” he said.

Rodríguez said an Austin entourage came to Mexico and they have already visited Mexico City, Monterrey, and are concluding with Saltillo, where they have met with more than a hundred entrepreneurs, including partners of the chambers of commerce of the first two cities.

The president of the Hispanic Chamber in Austin stressed the importance of the commercial exchange that exists between Texas and Mexico, which is more than US$50 billion and continues to grow. He added that the trade agreement between Mexico, the United States, and Canada (NAFTA) is responsible for more than 2 million jobs in Texas.
