MONTERREY – At the end of the first half of 2019, Nuevo León accumulated US$1 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), of which US$398 million comes from new investments, said the State Ministry of Economy and Labor.
During this period, Nuevo León also positioned itself as the second state with the highest flow of FDI in Mexico, representing 6% of the investment captured nationally at that time.
In the first semester, 22 foreign investment projects were announced, which would generate more than 4,000 new direct jobs.
Among these projects are new investments from Jabil, Dometic, Kern Liebers, NCH Corporation, as well as the expansions of companies that already operate successfully in the entity such as Thermo Fischer Scientific, Danfos, Ball, Denso, among others.
“In our investment portfolio, there are more than 100 companies that are considering establishing themselves here,” said the Secretary of Economy and Labor, Roberto Russildi Montellano. “We will continue to work so that new investments reach Nuevo León.”
