Tourism improves significantly in Tamaulipas

TAMAULIPAS – Investments in security and infrastructure the government of Tamaulipas has made are reflected in tourist recovery.

Fernando Olivera, Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, said the entity seeks to resume the importance of the travel industry to go beyond hunting, adventure, and medical tourism.

He explained that, in 2017 and 2018, they invested US$10 million in tourism infrastructure, and between 2019 and 2020 there will be more than US$60 million accumulated¾five times more.

The investments that have been made have been destined to the biosphere of the sky and the Miramar beach, the second largest in the country in attraction of travelers by road, just behind Acapulco. The injection of resources is also carried out in nautical villages, road projects, boardwalks, and in recovery of the port of Tampico.

On the other hand, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, governor of Tamaulipas, said that by the end of the summer they had received 3.6 million tourists, both national and international, 18% more compared to the same period of 2018.
