CHIHUAHUA – The Home Depot announced that it will invest more than US$14.5 million to build a new store in the city of Chihuahua, a decision that was announced by mayor Maru Campos.
“The creation of a second store will generate more than 350 local indirect jobs and 100 direct jobs,” said Alejandro Marquez, regional manager of The Home Depot.
In addition, the mayor mentioned that Chihuahua is a city where the conditions for investment have been very cared for.
She commented that the municipal government is an ally for companies seeking to pay in terms of investment, so she recognized this effort that will give the municipality a second store of this type.
Citlalli Cabrera, director of Benes Raíces, reported that the Chihuahua branch is among the top ten stores that generate most sales to the company, but after 6 years, will have a second branch in the city.
Roberto Riva Palacio, Public Relations manager, mentioned that Home Depot is a company that has a strong commitment to Mexico, since 8 out of 10 suppliers are local.
In addition, he emphasized that one of his values is social investment, such as the recovery of public spaces in the cities where his stores are located through the proposals from employees.
