COAHUILA – Coahuila remains as the leader in the auto parts production in the first two months of this year, producing 16.7% of vehicles.
According to the Director of Foreign Trade of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), Alberto Bustamante, in recent years Coahuila has had the largest production plants in the country, followed by Chihuahua with 12.4% and Guanajuato with 11.0%.
He pointed out that the Bajío region is becoming very important in terms of auto parts production; for example, Nuevo León ranks fourth with 10.9% of production, followed by Querétaro with 6.4% of production.
“This is moving in a very accelerated way towards the Bajio area, which is becoming very important,” he said.
It is worth mentioning that in the January-February 2021 period, auto parts production in the Northern Border represented 51.0% and the Bajio region 31.6%.
