TIJUANA – Around US$500 million will be invested in Tijuana’s maquiladora industry in the coming months, according to Pedro Montejo Peterson, president of the Maquiladora and Export Industry Association (Index) Zona Costa.
The executive stressed that there will be two projects, in which US$250 million and US$180 million will be invested respectively; both belong to the medical sector.
The leader of the organization reported an increase in membership, joint work with authorities and organizations on both sides of the border, and training through workshops and courses.
He emphasized that INDEX has participated in meetings of the National INDEX Council with representatives of the federal government, as well as attended meetings of the Executive Committee of INDEX at the national level.
