MONTERREY – The governor of Nuevo León, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, informed that a State Railroad Safety Committee has been set up to present projects for the Trust Fund of the National Safety Fund for Railway Crossings established in the expenditures budget of the federation of this year.
The official indicated that, with this committee, the state and local governments of the metropolitan area – Feromex, Kansas City, Southern Mexico, and the delegation of the Secretariat of Communications and Transportations (SCT), as well as the Railway Transportation Regulatory Agency – will be able to participate.
“It will have as functions to present projects for the Trust Fund of the National Security Fund for Railway Crossings, which has been established in the budget, and which will make contributions to the projects presented by the state,” said the governor.
He explained that the resources available to the trust amount to US$3.6 million, a figure that could be tripled with contributions of railway companies, municipalities, and the state government.
