The regional airline Aerus will increase the frequency of flights between Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) and General Pedro José Méndez Airport in Ciudad Victoria, according to the Tamaulipas Department of Tourism.
The route will operate every day except Saturdays for the remainder of July, departing from Ciudad Victoria at 2:00 p.m. and arriving at AIFA at 3:50 p.m. The return flight departs from AIFA at 9:00 a.m. and lands in Ciudad Victoria at 10:50 a.m.
Starting in August, flights will maintain the same schedule, but will not operate on Tuesdays. The cost for a one-way trip is estimated at just over 1,800 pesos.
According to the state agency, the measure seeks to strengthen Tamaulipas’ air connectivity, which could also benefit tourism, the economy, and trade between the two cities. Aerus, which operates in the northeast, Gulf, and central regions of the country, expects this route to become one of its main connections.
The announcement was made at the Ciudad Victoria airport and was attended by representatives of the airline and state officials. Miguel Legorreta, commercial director, and Cristian Mejía, director of operations, participated on behalf of Aerus.
Officials from the departments of Tourism, Economy, and airport administration were present on behalf of the state government.
