SAN DIEGO – With the objective of strengthening cooperation and community welfare in the binational region comprising Mexico and the United States, the Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda met in the city of Tijuana, with the Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, Alicia Kerber Palma.
During the meeting, the importance of this type of approach to promote cross-cutting policies to ensure inclusion and gender equity, as well as to strengthen security and social development in the region, and the promotion of the benefits of Baja California for foreign tourists, was highlighted.
One of the topics discussed during the meeting was the ongoing collaboration with the Baja California Women’s Justice Center and One Safe Place in San Diego, as well as tourism promotion through the Casa Mexico project, which is scheduled to be launched in 2025.
The meeting was framed in a constructive and purposeful dialogue, focused on identifying areas of mutual cooperation and fostering partnerships that benefit both sides of the border.
The governor emphasized that the Tijuana-San Diego Region is intimately connected and by promoting joint initiatives that ensure a safe and respectful environment and implementing projects that promote cultural and economic exchange, both cities strengthen each other.
