TEXAS – Representatives of the Government of Chihuahua, the Juarez Regional Economic Development Council (Coder), the Texas Department of Transportation and business leaders from Ciudad Juarez held a round table discussion to identify the needs, challenges and opportunities at border crossings between the United States and Mexico.
As part of the activity, representatives of the transportation industry, customs authorities and regional businessmen presented the main causes that impact the efficiency and fluidity of the transportation of goods between both nations.
Among the strategies proposed by the members of the round table was the use of advanced technologies to improve efficiency and security at border crossings.
The carriers thanked the attendees for listening to their needs and concerns, and stressed the importance of including them in these communication spaces.
During the meeting, it was determined to work together to address the current challenges and ensure expeditious, safe and productive freight transportation between Texas and Mexico.
Currently, the state of Chihuahua is Mexico’s main export platform, with close to 70 billion dollars in total export value at the end of 2023, according to figures from the Center for Economic and Social Information (CIES), with data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
