According to Jose Luis Rodriguez, President of the Aerospace Cluster in Chihuahua, this State is soon to have a complete, first world aerospace industry. The executive stated that there are 36 companies enrolled in the Cluster, and 4 of them are OEMs; in addition, there are over 4 million square feet of industrial grounds currently in use and this industry upholds 13,000 jobs in the State, out of which 10,000 are established in the City of Chihuahua.

The addition of more companies that specialize in aircraft parts and equipment manufacture, and the development -long term- of the technology route map, are part of the vision for the future of the aerospace industry. “The technological education will play a determining role to reach the goals set. One of the first goals is to have an aircraft repair shop, which could later be upgraded to an Integral Aviation service center. And finally, as a fourth stage, to assemble a complete airplane by the year 2023”, said Rodriguez.
