CHIHUAHUA – A delegation from Chihuahua will attend the international fair Farnborough Air Show 2024 to be held in England, in order to promote the state for the arrival of investments in the aerospace sector.
Chihuahua has been a reference in aerospace investments in recent years, with 20 thousand jobs formally established and US$1.8 billion in annual exports. The state’s Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development, Ulises Fernández Gamboa, emphasized that the Chihuahua delegation attending the fair aims to attract investments, processes and specific technologies by meeting with more than 50 companies and academic institutions.
The international fair will take place from July 22 to 26 at Farnborough, and is expected to be attended by more than 75 thousand visitors from more than 100 countries with 27 international pavilions. This edition will focus on six strategic pillars: space technology, security, workforce development, advanced air mobility technology, innovation and sustainability.
Farnborough International Airshow is the most important aerospace fair in the world and the state of Chihuahua will make up the Mexican pavilion, which will be headed by the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA), together with states such as Querétaro, Sonora, Baja California, Guanajuato and Aguascalientes.
The director of Promotora para el Desarrollo Económico del Estado de Chihuahua (Prodech), Alejandro Jaschack, mentioned that this fair is an ideal platform to showcase the state’s capabilities and strengths so that investors materialize more operations in the state.
It is worth noting that the state is home to 5 of 8 original equipment manufacturing companies (OEM’S) such as: Textron Aviation, Bell Helicopter, Embraer, Bombardier and Honeywell.
The president of the Chihuahua Aerospace Cluster, Luis Azúa, emphasized that not only is the attraction of capital sought, but also that more local companies can be inserted into the value chain.
