Chihuahua State invests in video surveillance systems

CIUDAD JUAREZ – In 2018, the State government invested US$522,454 in the municipality of Juárez to strengthen video surveillance systems to support police operations and deployment, emergency response, crime prevention, the administration of justice and inter-institutional coordination.

With regard to strengthening closed-circuit television schemes, 30 video surveillance cameras were installed, as well as seven intelligent monitoring points, at which 28 digital video surveillance cameras were distributed in the municipalities of Chihuahua, Juárez, Hidalgo del Parral and Cuauhtémoc.

In addition, 50 panic buttons with intercoms were installed in the municipalities of Juárez, Chihuahua, Hidalgo del Parral, Cuauhtémoc, Delicias, Camargo and Jiménez.

In order to strengthen the technological infrastructure and considering the voluntary contribution of technological resources for citizen surveillance within a framework of strict legality and respect for human rights, a collaboration agreement was signed with the company Suro Sistemas, S.A. de C.V. Connecting Mexico.
