Chihuahua to Host 2025 Science and Engineering Fair, Showcasing Student Innovation

The 2025 Science and Engineering Fair (FECI) will convene on November 26 and 27 at the Semilla Museum, spotlighting groundbreaking projects from high school and university students. The fair will feature a diverse range of proposals, from solutions for everyday challenges to advanced applications in industrial processes, energy, health, and emerging technologies.

The event will commence with an opening ceremony on Wednesday, November 26, at 10:00 a.m. Over the two days, a panel of specialist judges will evaluate the projects based on criteria including originality, scientific methodology, potential impact, and feasibility. The fair will conclude with an awards ceremony on Thursday, November 27, at noon, where first-place winners will be honored for their exceptional work.

A key incentive for participants is the chance to compete on a national stage. The six highest-scoring teams will earn the right to represent Chihuahua at the 2026 Mexican Science and Engineering Fair (FEMECI), scheduled for March in San Carlos, Sonora. The Institute of Innovation and Competitiveness will sponsor the selected participants, covering all expenses for travel, lodging, and meals.

Beyond serving as an academic showcase, FECI aims to foster a deeper interest in STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The competition is designed to encourage young people to develop skills that enable them to create practical solutions for real-world needs in both social and productive sectors. According to the organizing institution, the ultimate goal is to cultivate a new generation of individuals with strong technical backgrounds and a vision centered on innovation.
