The city of Chihuahua has been selected to host the international event “Artificial Intelligence Mexico” (AIM 2025), scheduled for December 3-4 at the Sheraton Soberano Hotel. The summit is poised to position the region at the forefront of the global conversation on artificial intelligence.
Under the theme “From Labor-Intensive to Human-Expansive Models,” AIM 2025 will tackle the most pressing industrial and social challenges posed by AI. The event’s agenda features a series of presentations, expert panels, workshops, and networking sessions, with a sharp focus on practical applications in manufacturing, logistics, and education.
The conference will gather a distinguished group of international specialists, including Edward Jung, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Intellectual Ventures; Mahak Sharma, Platform Partnerships Lead at Gemini by Google and OpenAI; and Alex Cohen, Founder of 4by9. The roster also features leading academics and economists such as Marcela Escobari, a researcher in Global Economics; Sanjeev Khagram, a professor at Stanford University; and Sebastián Campanario, an economist for the newspaper La Nación. They will be joined by Rebeca Hwang, a Stanford innovation expert, who highlighted Chihuahua’s significant progress in adopting AI to address strategic and social challenges.
Jorge Cruz Camberos, President of the Chihuahua State Economic Development Association (DESEC), stated that AIM 2025 will provide a critical platform to analyze current and future employment trends and identify new opportunities driven by artificial intelligence.
The event is spearheaded by the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) in coordination with DESEC, Chihuahua Futura, and the Chihuahua municipal government. The choice of Chihuahua as the host city is strategic, underscoring its key role in the global AI supply chain. Authorities noted that Ciudad Juárez manufactures approximately 50% of the generative AI servers for major platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini, produced by leading Taiwanese technology companies.
