CIUDAD JUAREZ – The lag in public works that currently exists in Ciudad Juárez is worth US$3.5 billion, which affects not only the urban image of the municipality but also public and private investment.
2019 promises to be, both for businessmen and for state and municipal government, one of the years when most public and private construction projects will take place in the locality.
However, for businessmen in the construction industry, the lag that exists in terms of public works in theborder has slowed down the creation of jobs and the development of the city.
The president of Cámara Mexicana de la Industria de la Construcción (CMIC), Mario Baeza, reported that investment in public works in Juarez has come since 2017 from the municipality, due to the fact that the state has not invested.
“There have been public projects, but the majority that has been carried out since 2017,comes from the municipality, last year more than US$36 million were invested, while the state had very little investment….” explained Mr. Baeza.
