CIUDAD JUAREZ— About US$5 million per hour are lost in terms of exports due to the continuous closure of international bridges.

“The affectation is serious and therefore the Municipal Government will have a dialogue with representatives of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), to seek a solution to the export manufacturing industry,” said the mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Armando Cabada.

He pointed out that there is a serious problem regarding the bridges, caused by Cubans arriving in groups and staying in hotels; they have been trying to cross the bridges massively, causing reactions from those in charge of immigration security in El Paso, who close the bridges.

Mr. Cabada added that this migration issue has turned into a serious problem since there is no space to take care of migrants and now they are causing problems that affect in a negative way the inhabitants of Juarez.
