The airline Viva Aerobús announced the start of operations in Saltillo, with the first commercial flight that will connect the capital of Coahuila with Mexico City starting at the end of October 2025.
The announcement was made during the Tianguis Turístico held in Tijuana, Baja California, with the participation of airline executives and state authorities. Blas Flores González, Chief of Cabinet and Strategic Projects of the Government of Coahuila, indicated that it is expected to reach at least five routes to different destinations by 2026.
The new service is part of a strategy to expand air connectivity in the southeastern region of the state. Discussions are also underway with other airlines to strengthen the supply of domestic and international flights from Saltillo.
Local authorities have stated that this expansion seeks to facilitate business and tourism travel, in addition to attracting investment and fostering economic development in the area.
