CHIHUAHUA – The Ministry of Education and Sports (SEyD) and Economic Development of the State of Chihuahua A.C., held a working meeting with rectors, directors, administrative and liaison chiefs, both from public and private schools in the state, in order to analyze the current outlook of competitiveness and employability for students.
As part of the work session, the importance of focusing efforts on talent development in the institutions of higher and middle education was emphasized, in order to guarantee the formation of students with the skills demanded by today’s world.
During the meeting, the Secretary of Education and Sports, Francisco Hugo Gutiérrez, stated that with the support and solidarity of the Chihuahua business community, which represents the association with 50 years of existence in the state, a positive impact will be achieved in the development and employability of young people.
“Hence the importance of working together with academia, civil society and government, so that, derived from a relevant analysis of trends, we can direct the efforts of middle and higher education in Chihuahua, towards economic and social development that responds to the challenges that lie ahead and those we will face in the short term,” said Gutierrez.
The secretary said that the education sector is in an era of many challenges, such as technological advances and the irruption of Artificial Intelligence, which forces us to rethink new ways of teaching and solving ultra-complex problems with simple and effective solutions.
“To train better human beings with broad capabilities that are not only technical but also humanistic, is one of the main causes that the Governor has entrusted us with,” he commented.
The meeting was attended by different academic figures, business leaders and school representatives, who discussed how to strengthen the joint work for the benefit of the entity.
