PHOENIX, AZ – Phoenix Airport announced the arrival of Condor Airlines (DE) flight DE2026 from Frankfurt. The carrier’s new Airbus A330neo aircraft covers the nonstop route to the German city.
The A330neo arrived in Phoenix for the start of the summer transatlantic travel season, when Condor will offer three weekly flights (Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays) to its Frankfurt hub, with easy connections to more than 100 destinations throughout Europe and beyond, the airport noted.
The aircraft will replace the previous generation Boeing 767 aircraft and will significantly reduce Condor’s operating costs and offer increased passenger and cargo capacity in the Frankfurt market.
The new model has incorporated the latest generation RollsRoyce Trent 7000 engines, new wings and aerodynamic innovations, the aircraft reduces Condor’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20% and is the world’s first aircraft already certified for the regulatory CO2 emissions reduction, which will be required in 2028, and will subsequently reduce the environmental footprint of travelers.
“Condor has been serving Sky Harbor since 2018, and today we are delighted to bring our new A330neo aircraft to Phoenix, one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The A330neo is truly a game changer for Condor and for transatlantic travel, and we are thrilled to bring our next-generation aircraft to both business and leisure travelers in Phoenix,” said Mikko Turtiainen, director of sales for The Americas.
Along with Phoenix, Condor will operate from a total of 18 North American cities to Frankfurt this summer: Including New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), Boston (BOS), Baltimore (BWI), Miami, (MIA), Portland (PDX), Minneapolis (MSP), Las Vegas (LAS), Phoenix (PHX), San Antonio (SAT) and Anchorage (ANC), Toronto (YYZ), Vancouver (YVC), Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG) and Halifax (YHZ).
