COAHUILA – With an investment of more than US$20 million, the construction of the Periférico Business Park, a last mile industrial complex in the municipality of Torreón, began in Coahuila.
Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís led the groundbreaking ceremony, where he informed that the new industrial complex will generate 500 direct jobs.
The park will have 38 industrial lots and two commercial macrolots. In his message, Governor Riquelme Solís highlighted that this is the 67th investment announced in Coahuila during 2023, and the 50th in the Comarca Lagunera.
“Today we see how the economy of the Comarca Lagunera is growing, which is due to the climate of security and social peace,” said the governor. “Between all of society we have taken advantage of this growth that is reflected with indicators that are on the rise every month.”
Diego Alonso Salum, director of the project, emphasized that Periférico Business Park is a last-mile industrial park, which means it is located close to the main communication routes.
“We are confident that this project will be a success,” said Alonso Salum. “Torreón is a city with great economic potential, and we are convinced that this investment will help strengthen the region’s economy.”
Claudio Bres Garza, Coahuila’s Secretary of Economy, reiterated that this is the 67th investment to be announced in the state so far this year.
“In 10 months, according to IMSS, Torreon has captured 12,081 new jobs,” said Bres Garza. “This is a sign that the region’s economy is growing.”
