NUEVO LAREDO – The customs office of Nuevo Laredo, recognized as the most important in Latin America, presented a 6% growth in tax collection during the first half of the year, by capturing US$3.5 million through 1,046,000 requests; while so far this year the figure was exceeded with US$3.4 million, with approximately the same number of requests.
The collection from the self-declaration at this customs office also increased, since in 2018, US$4.7 million were raised, while this year it increased to US$5.8 million, with more than 80,000 computerized tickets.
According to figures from Self Declaration and Collection of Pediments, Nuevo Laredo’s customs is recognized as one of the most efficient in the country due to the improvements it has implemented in customs procedures.
Private industry organizations believe that customs growth is due to trained personnel with openness and experience, factors that managed to increase the monetary collection derived from self-declarations and logistical requests.
