EL PASO, TX – El Paso International Airport inaugurated non-stop flights from El Paso to Ontario and San Diego, California, complementing Frontier Airlines service.
On May 16, the airport celebrated the two inaugural flights, and beginning that same week, passengers will be able to enjoy new and convenient nonstop travel from Frontier to the California cities.
Frontier’s new service to San Diego, which will be offered three days a week, began May 16, while flights to Ontario, also offered three days a week, will begin May 17, 2024, the city of El Paso said.
The new routes complement Frontier’s existing service from ELP to Denver and Las Vegas. While Ontario is part of the Southern California market already served by Southwest (LAX and Long Beach) and American (LAX), the addition of Frontier flights gives travelers more options for flying.
Similarly, San Diego, currently served by Southwest with daily flights, will benefit from increased options with Frontier service.
It was last March when the city of El Paso announced that Frontier would have new nonstop routes to Ontario and San Diego.
The announcement of the new routes followed the start of Southwest Airlines’ service to Long Beach, California and Orlando, Florida last fall. In addition, Southwest Airlines’ Chicago Midway service and the addition of a third Delta Airlines flight to Atlanta will begin this summer.
