The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food, (SAGARPA), coordinated the visit of a commercial mission of entrepreneurs from the Popular Republic of China, interested in buying pecan nuts in Mexico directly from Laguna Region producers.
Raul Urteaga Trani, SAGARPA’s General Coordinator of Foreign Affairs, detailed that the Chinese mission was made up of 28 buyers representing 14 companies of the Asian Nation, which held business meetings with 34 Mexican producers from 25 organizations of nut producers from the States of Coahuila, Chihuahua and Durango. Chinese authorities, in the same manner, decided to temporarily cut down customs duties from 25% to 10% for pecan nuts coming from Mexico.
