There are over 325 companies from the aerospace sector nowadays in Mexico, located mainly in Baja California, Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Queretaro and Sonora, providing employment to over 45,000 people.
This sector is expected to accomplish exports valued at US$12.26 billion by 2021, thus becoming consolidated among the top 10 exporter countries in this specialty. Nataly Medina, Coordinator of Electronic Cybernetic Engineering at the Center for Technical and Superior Learning (CETYS) at the University of Tijuana, underscored the importance of education for both future and current professionals of the industry, as the more development the Mexican aerospace sector accomplishes, the more qualified professionals will be on demand.
