El Paso Electric receives Energy Star 2022 award

EL PASO, TX – Utility company El Paso Electric (EPE) announced it has received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year 2022 award from the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for its ability to help customers save on energy consumption and for its efforts in energy efficiency customer outreach and education.

“We are honored to have earned this recognition because it highlights how much our community values energy efficiency,” shared EPE Energy Efficiency Supervisor Araceli Perea. “We will continue to support energy efficiency programs so residents and businesses can maximize their opportunities to save energy and money.”

“We know we’re going to need all of us to work together to address the climate crisis, and the ENERGY STAR 2022 award-winning partners are demonstrating what it takes to build a more sustainable future,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan.

Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors a group of companies and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to environmental protection through energy achievements. Award winners lead their sectors in the production, sale and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services and strategies – efforts essential to fighting the climate crisis and protecting public health, EPE announced.

Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. EPE has also been recognized on previous occasions with the ENERGY STAR Market Leader 2021 award.
