EL PASO, TX – The City of El Paso’s Department of Economic and International Development launched an interactive data tool that provides instant information on the city’s economy.
Through the Economic Snapshot platform, El Paso citizens will be able to view up-to-date data on key indicators such as demographics, industry trends, education, quality of life and migration.
“The department used to manage data on an ad hoc basis, now Economic Snapshot focuses data on key metrics and performs real-time updates,” stated Economic Development Director Elizabeth Triggs.
She added that the tool brings communities’ economic opportunities and challenges to the forefront, enabling conversations about systems coordination, cross-sector understanding and collaboration.
In addition, the platform provides a wealth of information to guide economic and social policy decisions affecting the city.
According to information from the City Council, this new tool also provides potential investors with data on El Paso’s strategic position in the Borderplex region, its industrial competitiveness, and its quality of life, among other aspects.
The Snapshot dashboard includes a feature for public input through SurveyMonkey as a way to continually adapt the dashboard in response to user needs.
