EL PASO, TX – The city of El Paso, Texas announced that Southwest Airlines will begin offering direct flights to Long Beach, California and Orlando, Florida.
According to information from El Paso International Airport, the airline will begin offering daily service to Long Beach and weekly service to Orlando, bringing the total to 14 direct destinations with connections worldwide.
Service to Long Beach Airport (LGB) will be offered daily beginning July 11, 2023. Flights to Orlando International Airport (MCO) will be offered weekly on Saturdays beginning September 9, 2023. Tickets for both destinations are on sale now at southwest.com.
“These two new flights mark the 28th and 29th new service announcements since 2015, when the City created its first-ever strategic plan. Increasing direct flights topped the list. These announcements demonstrate our commitment to expand air service and meet the public’s expectations for more flights to different destinations,” said City Manager Tommy Gonzalez.
Sam Rodriguez, Director of Aviation thanked Southwest Airlines for expanding service to these markets on the east and west coast of the United States.
“Our community has demonstrated the demand for more service options with an amazing uptick in passenger traffic. This is our second nonstop destination in the greater Los Angeles area, and we are grateful to our partners at SWA for helping to expand our service to an underserved market,” Rodriguez said.
