Engie to invest US$52.4 million in Tamaulipas

TAMAULIPAS . –  Engie announced a US$52.4 million investment plan in Tamaulipas to increase the residential, commercial and industrial natural gas network in the cities of Madero, Altamira, Reynosa, Matamoros and Rio Bravo.

Julio César Rosas, Engie’s regional director in Tamaulipas, explained that US$9.1 million will be invested in the municipality of Madero, being the municipality in the south of Tamaulipas where most resources will be applied.

“Engie Group is betting a lot on Mexico, knows that there is good growth, we have this investment in Tamaulipas but each of the distribution areas will have a similar amount for growth in natural gas networks,” said the executive.

30% of this investment is paid to companies as labor, the rest is spent on materials for construction of which the majority is purchased locally. In addition it will increase its workforce currently has 360 people and will increase by 80%.

“We buy 60% locally and encourage the productive part, from transport and materials and companies, we have agreements with the CMIC and everything is local we do not bring companies from outside,” said Rosas.
