As part of the 2025 International Digital Transformation Forum held in Ensenada, Abelardo Vázquez Ramos, Undersecretary of Creative Industries at the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (SEI), met with Katalina Papic, director of the international consulting firm UNIT.
The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for international collaboration to strengthen the innovation and creativity ecosystem in Baja California. Among the topics discussed were the exchange of best practices, the design of open innovation methodologies, and the development of institutional capacities.
Katalina Papic is a specialist in digital transformation, public innovation, and strategic design. She has worked with Latin American governments for more than a decade and was part of the founding team of the Chilean Government Laboratory. She currently leads global projects from the UNIT consulting firm and works as an academic at Chilean universities.
The meeting raised the possibility of establishing new alliances to promote collaborative projects and people-centered strategies, with the aim of strengthening the role of creative industries in the state’s economy and public life.
The event was held at the Riviera Hotel in Ensenada and is part of the state administration’s efforts to promote innovation as a tool for economic and social development.
