JUAREZ – Fabiola Angélica Luna Ávila pledged her vision as head of Index Juárez in an event attended by state and municipal authorities, along with Luis Hernández, president of Index National.
In her speech, Luna Ávila highlighted the role of the transformation industry on the border, a sector that employs about 320,000 people, which represents 65% of the workforce in Ciudad Juárez.
She mentioned that even in the midst of the pandemic, this sector managed to stay safe and even generated new investments.
Among her work commitments, she assured that she will follow the health protocols implemented by the maquilas in favor of her staff.
“Our mission is to keep employees safe,” she said.
She also said that she will seek to promote industrial responsibility and increase foreign direct investment with new business attractions.
For now, she announced five investment projects for 2021, for which she did not give details.
The event was held at the manufacturing agency’s facilities and Governor Javier Corral Jurado was in charge of taking the new managers’ pledge.
At the same time, recognition was given to Pedro Chavira, outgoing president of Index Juárez, who also highlighted the work of that sector in the midst of the pandemic.
