GOODYEAR, AZ – Factor, the leading U.S. ready-to-eat meal delivery service, announced the opening of a new production facility in Goodyear, Arizona, to further expand the brand.
The 300,100-square-foot facility will become the second largest industrial kitchen in the United States (according to Rational), allowing Factor to offer more customers healthy, premium ready-to-eat meals.
Factor was born in 2013 in Chicago, Illinois, with the sole purpose of offering ready-to-eat meals that fuel active lifestyles. Since then, the brand has been on a strong growth trajectory, working to perfect its supply and service chain, including how it sources ingredients, cooks meals, packages and ships them.
Since its 2020 acquisition by HelloFresh Group, the company has leveraged world-class capabilities and technology infrastructure to reach the consumer directly, and has achieved stellar growth, quickly becoming the market leader within the segment in the U.S., with 60% market share in Q4 2022.
In addition, Factor has increased its menu offerings by 75 percent, allowing consumers to choose from a wider selection of meals, including more keto, smart calorie, protein plus, vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Uwe Voss, CEO of HelloFresh U.S., said the addition of the Goodyear facility will allow them to increase capacity, serve more customers and drive further significant business growth, all while offering world-class service.
Factor has also recently expanded outside the U.S. into markets where there is a high adoption rate of direct-to-consumer ready-to-consume services. With its international expansion, the company is now available in Canada (after launching in early 2023), Belgium and the Netherlands, where it launched last month.
With the opening of the new facility, Factor will employ more than 800 team members who will, among other things, cook, prepare and fulfill customer orders once the center is fully operational.
The Goodyear facility will also incorporate state-of-the-art automated technology to meet the increasing complexity of options offered to customers, and to streamline and speed up production. The facility also features sustainable operations, such as CO2 cooling to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
