JUAREZ, CHIH – Index University celebrated the graduation of its first generation of students, who successfully completed the Specialization Program in the area of Information Technology.
In an emotional ceremony held at the Federico Barrio Terrazas auditorium of Index-Juárez, 23 graduates received their diplomas in an event attended by family members, educational authorities and industry leaders.
The rector of the Universidad Tecnológica de Ciudad Juárez (UTCJ), Carlos Ernesto Ortiz Villegas, highlighted the importance of this program as a response to the growing demand for skilled labor in the industrial sector.
“This great effort is a dream longed for many years in our city and I consider that in our country, in the search to develop high quality professionals with the competencies that the industry requires today,” he said.
Ortiz Villegas mentioned the interest of UTCJ and the Maquiladora Association Index in improving the competencies of the current talent, with the objective of being prepared for the challenges of the present and face them effectively.
The president of Index Juárez, Sergio Colín Chávez, congratulated the graduates and pledged to continue supporting their professional development: “We will follow up on the 23 young people who are graduating from Universidad Index today; we want to know how they are doing in their professional career and how they continue their development in the area,” he said.
Colín Chávez mentioned that this effort will translate into better employment opportunities and higher salaries for the graduates, allowing them to improve the quality of life of their families.
Index University is a specialization program created by UTCJ and Index-Juárez with the objective of providing workers in the maquiladora industry with the skills and technical knowledge demanded by the sector.
The program was designed to respond to the need for qualified and competitive labor in areas such as Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Mechatronics, Logistics and Business Administration. On March 9, the second phase of the Index University project will begin, with two groups of students in the Business Operations and Information Technology specialization areas.
