NOGALES – Business groups and authorities have placed 24 foreign migrants in job positions in the export maquiladora industry of the Sonora border, stated Alejandro Castro Sandoval, director of Social Development of Nogales.
The municipal official indicated that the agency has already placed 15 foreign citizens in this sector, mainly the manufacturing sector.
Castro Sandoval stated that migrants receive advice and help, so that they obtain a source of income while waiting for a response in the asylum process that they requested at the U.S. customs.
He stressed as well that they been approaching the productive sector to talk about this matter, in addition to the fact that the local government has opened doors for migrants in order for them to request any type of support regarding food, legal advice, security or employment.
