CIUDAD JUAREZ – The lack of industrial components worldwide as well as the closure of seaports in Asia have already caused technical stoppages in companies in Ciudad Juarez.
One of them is Harman, which, faced with supply chain problems, has had to stop production while awaiting the arrival of raw materials.
Eduardo Rodriguez, CEO of the company, mentioned that the greatest impact is due to the closure of ports in Asia, which stops the shipment of materials to the locality.
“We’ve had to send some people under agreement while we wait for some material to arrive, but it’s been more because of delays,” he said.
The problem started three weeks ago, so in order to solve it, they began to look for other national and even local suppliers.
He added that production delays have impacted other automotive companies, which has caused problems for assemblers such as Ford and Toyota.
Harman is a company that manufactures speakers for vehicles and has two manufacturing plants in Juarez.
