EL PASO — PHIX announced that Emergence Health Network is participating with El Paso’s Health Information Exchange. As the Local Mental Health and IDD Authority in El Paso County, EHN provides a variety of services to address the needs of vulnerable citizens in the region, including those with severe and persistent mental illness, intellectual/development disabilities, and/or substance abuse issues.
PHIX’s connection with EHN enables participating hospitals and providers in the El Paso community to access their patients’ records from EHN securely and electronically upon the patient’s consent. Similarly, EHN providers can access health records from other participating community providers.
The health information exchange enables providers to see a more complete picture of each patient’s health from across the community in one place, which enables better care coordination. “We are thrilled to be able to partner with PHIX to enhance the level of service and security we are now able to provide to our patients,” explained Kristen Daugherty, Chief Executive Officer of EHN and Member of the PHIX Board of Directors.
