Home sales in El Paso fell in September

EL PASO – The volume of residential housing sales in El Paso, Texas suffered a fall of 8.82% in its annual comparison, as reported by the real estate research center of Texas A&M University.

According to the most recent ATM study, residential housing transactions in the border city fell from 952 in September 2020 to 868 in the same period this year; while accumulated sales reached a total of 7,730.

This represented a decrease in the volume of dollars, going from US$193.77 million to US$193.7 million. On the other hand, the average sale price increased by 9.64% in its annual comparison, going from US$203,539 to US$223,162 dollars, while the average price per square foot rose from US$106.14 to US$121.83.

The average price increased by 9.9% year-on-year, from US$183,500 to US$201,675, while the average price per square foot also increased from US$106.70 to US$121.54. Regarding the monthly inventory of single-unit residential homes, the month supply decreased from 1.7 to 1.3 and the days to sell fell from 112 to 94.

On the other hand, the volume of sales of single-family homes decreased by 8.62% year-on-year, from 940 to 859 transactions. Accumulated sales from January to September 2021 reached a total of 7,600; and the income rose from US$191.86 million to US$192.51 million.

The average sale price increased by 9.8% year over year from US$204,102 to US$224,112, while the average price per square foot rose from US$106.16 to US$121.95; In addition, the downtown cost increased by 9.93% year-on-year, going from US$183,750 to US$202,000 dollars, while the average price per square foot also increased from US$106,079 to US$121,082.

Month’s inventory for single-family homes decreased from 1.7 to 1.3, while days to sell were cut from 111 to 95.
