The hotel chain that manages brands such as Holiday Inn, IHG, is to invest US$26 million in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, so as to add 378 new rooms to the Holiday Inn & Suites Apodaca and Holiday Inn Express Fundidora buildings. Said expansions will generate up to 250 new jobs between 2019 and 2020.
“At the Holiday Inn & Suites Apodaca hotel, there will be 208 new rooms with an investment of close to US$16 million, approximately US$75,000 per room. We estimate that it will be ready in April 2019,” the company explained.
On the other hand, the Holiday Inn Express Fundidora expansion will consist of 170 rooms, with a US$10 million investment, US$60,000 per room. Said expansion will be ready by November 2019.
To this day, IHG, together with its franchisees, operates 141 hotels, which translates into 21,981 rooms. Ten of said hotels are located in Nuevo Leon.
