TIJUANA – The maquiladora industry represents 60% of the formal jobs registered with Seguro Social in the city of Tijuana, said the president of Empleo Nuevo, Noé Morales.
He mentioned that this number is due to the large industrial dynamism that the region has and continues to grow.
Although a large number of operators or assemblers make up the local industries, he noted that some professions also have large numbers of workers.
“Because of its characteristics, the industry has positions of all kinds,” he said, “mainly the engineering areas in the quality and production sectors; warehousing, purchasing and administrative areas as well.
The current demand is mostly for operators, he added, representing up to 6,000 vacancies to be filled in different companies.
