NEW MEXICO – Intel in New Mexico is working with the Workforce Solutions Department and Economic Development to host a MEGA Hiring Event, providing numerous growth opportunities for individuals interested in joining the semiconductor manufacturing sector.
The event will take place on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Event Center, located at 3001 Civic Center Circle NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144.
In 2021, Intel announced a US$3.5 billion expansion in New Mexico, which will enable the manufacturing of leading-edge semiconductor packaging technologies. This multi-year investment is expected to create at least 700 high-tech jobs, 1,000 in the construction sector and support an additional 3,500 jobs in the state.
The Economic Development Department (EDD) reported that the MEGA hiring event will focus on the role of manufacturing technicians and that they are vital to keeping factories up and running 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“We are excited to host the MEGA Hiring Event in New Mexico, offering prospective candidates the opportunity to join Intel’s innovative manufacturing team,” said Katie Prouty, vice president of Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations.
Prospective applicants can find detailed job requirements and application information on the official New Mexico Workforce Connection website.
“Our partnership with Intel is a great way to provide high-quality jobs to New Mexicans,” said Deputy Secretary of Economic Development Jon Clark.
To ensure a streamlined hiring process, pre-screening will be conducted through the New Mexico Workforce Connection website. Interviews will be scheduled based on the results of the pre-screening and walk-ins will also be accepted on the day of the event.
“The MEGA Hiring Event is a great opportunity to connect New Mexicans with jobs in growth areas like technology and advanced manufacturing. And our Workforce Connection Centers across the state are ready to help anyone get the skills they need to qualify for jobs like these in the future,” said Sarita Nair, Secretary of the Department of Workforce Solutions.
This event is an excellent opportunity for people looking to develop their careers in the manufacturing industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Intel representatives, learn about the company’s operations and showcase their skills and enthusiasm for being part of a leading global technology company.
