With the aim of strengthening ties between industry, suppliers, and universities in the region, a collaboration agreement was signed between Electrical Wire Expo and the Municipal Government of Juarez.
Representing Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, City Council Secretary Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel signed the agreement.
The agreement seeks to organize events that promote the participation of national and international suppliers and generate economic benefits linked to business tourism in the city, including lodging, restaurants, and local commerce, according to officials.
Tania Maldonado Garduño, general director of Economic Development for the Municipality, said that the alliance will promote industrial development and announced that an event will be held in El Paso, Texas, on September 10 and 11 as a first step toward future collaborations.
“This collaboration is expected to attract investment and give visibility to suppliers, generating an economic impact in Juarez and the neighboring city,” Maldonado added.
For his part, Jesús Duarte, president of Electrical Wire, highlighted the importance of the collaboration with the municipality for the realization of Expo Wiretech, an event aimed at cable processing companies, which offers access to equipment, tools, materials, and supplies used in the manufacture and inspection of cable harnesses.
Duarte mentioned that the next exhibition in El Paso will feature free transportation for attendees from Juarez, facilitated by the municipality.
Alejandro Acosta, councilor for the Economic Development and Tourism Commission, said that they hope that, once the Convention Center is completed, more events of this type can be held.
Enrique Licón Chávez, director coordinator; Norma Angélica López, general director of Electrical Wire Expo; and Jaqueline Duarte, general manager of the company, also participated in the signing of the agreement.
